WHY US
Countries as well as special economic zones are competing ever more vigorously for foreign direct investment. In the light of this, a clear value proposition, availability of infrastructure and talent, a favourable regulatory and tax regime and excellence in communications and positioning are paramount.

However, one factor is often overlooked, even though it features prominently in investor surveys as well as in global rankings such as the World Bank’s ‘Ease of Doing Business’ index: the outstanding positive economic impact of effective and efficient dispute resolution as well as strong rules and regulations and good governance. This is where The Metis Institute comes in.
All initiatives can be structured either to fit within a country’s, a zone’s or – in the case of governance – also a company’s existing framework. We also help set up a separate “island” solution, e.g. a dispute resolution mechanism with limited mandate for a specific zone or set of zones.
